Cell-based therapy

Cell-based therapy

Cell therapy is a treatment in which living cells are injected, grafted, or implanted into a patient to achieve a therapeutic effect, such as by grafting stem cells to regenerate diseased tissues or transplanting T-cells capable of fighting cancer cells via cell-mediated immunity during immunotherapy.

Cell-based treatment is a growing scientific field that involves altering a patient's own cells or cells from a donor to combat disease and treat medical ailments. Researchers have recently assisted in the development of a breakthrough cell-based strategy to treating blood malignancies known as chimeric antigen receptor therapy. They're still looking into a variety of cell types for potential medicinal applications.
